Cellos

Phoenix II

The design for the Phoenix comes from a Brothers Gagliano cello. I also calculated the mensure so that the string length would be shorter than normal to accommodate the small size of the cellist’s hand. Inside the cello are two Phoenix chicks arising from the ashes of a predessor on a cliff-side nest made from charred remains. On the back of the scroll is an incised feather. This cello was created for Surgeon/Cellist, Demitra Manjoros, of Sedona, Arizona.
